Team Byom Bunch is in its 10th year running in our united effort to fight against Alzheimer's. I created this team in 2013 to honor my grandmother, Edith Ann Byom, who lost her mother, brother, and sister to this terrible disease. Not long after, my grandmother began her fight and sadly we lost her January 18, 2018 to Alzheimer's. Like so many of you know, this disease steals the ones you love long before they pass from the disease's symptoms. It is cruel and unforgiving. It is a disease that ripples through the family creating suffering for all those that it touches and their loved ones. In 2017 my two young children were honored to carry the first white flower during the flower ceremony at the walk. The white flower is the symbol of the first survivor within this war we all fight. Not only was it an honor, but it was a symbol of hope. A hope I carry each day that through all our efforts a cure will be found for our generation and our children's generation.
For all your own stories out there- keep fighting the good fight.
