Alzheimer's is very personal to me. My grandmother had it and my mother had it, too. Unfortunately, Mom passed away on December10, 2023. I miss her every day. I miss our chats, singing together, reading novels together, baking together, and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren together. My mother was Valedictorian of her high school class, was a teacher in a one-room school house, tutored children who were having learning difficulties, taught Sunday school, and was bookkeeper for our family business. And then she started to lose her memory. Names became difficult to recall. Mostly, she remembered past events, but in the end, she didn't even remember those things. But she always remembered me. Alzheimer's. It's very sad, but we can fight it. Alzheimer's research has made great strides, and we can all help! I, personally, have participated in several recent studies. I hope you will consider supporting my walk with Walworth County's Walk to End Alzheimer's. Last year, I raised over $1,500!!! I'd like to think I can raise that much this year. If you'd like to join me in the walk, I'll create a team. Otherwise, I encourage you to make a donation. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
