On September 15, 2024, I will be participating in the 31st Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® (Milwaukee County). I will be walking to honor my dear late father, Ed, who passed away due to complications from this heartbreaking and devastating disease.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050!
Other important facts:
- 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia.
- Over 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementia.
- Alzheimer's kills more people than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
