Team Hot Rod Annie is walking in honor of our Matriarch, Miss Anne Desmarais. Grandma was an amazing woman, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend and nurse. She was known for her kindness, hospitality, beautiful smile, kind brown eyes, and deep dimples. She loved her six kids and ten grandkids more than life itself. We could always count on her to support us and care for us, make us laugh, and burst out into song at any given moment. She loved spending time with her church family at Our Lady of Lourdes in Selah, and was an active member there for many years. She was also a volunteer at the Selah Food Bank for years, where she often took her grandkids to help out and share with them her love of helping others. Grandma enjoyed Hawaii, cooking for her family, helping others out in anyway possible, cheering on her grandkids at their sporting events, listening to country music (Elvis especially) and cruising around in her red PT Cruiser (which is how she got her nickname of Hot Rod Annie). 

In the later years of her life, she unfortunately suffered from Alzheimer's disease, which is a disease we wouldn't wish on anyone. It slowly has taken her from us over the years, which has been heartbreaking and painful. She recently passed away, after suffering from complications of the disease. We miss her immensely but am glad that she is no longer in the horrible pain that this disease brings.
