I'm fundraising in memory of my dad and to also spread the word about ways to work toward preventing Dementia. My dad had Vascular Dementia which made decision making hard for him as he grew older. Our mom was his main caregiver learning how to communicate effectively with him from dementia training with Teepa Snow and support groups like Tea at 2 with Vicki and Ron McCartey and the Skagit Adult Day Program at the Bradford House.
Currently Dementia is our most expensive illness effecting more than 5 million Americans and is growing by the day. All of our futures are at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Our life choices about the food we consume, the chemicals we use on them and in our environment, how we handle our stress and how we move our bodies will make a difference in our brain function.
Together, we can raise awareness about things we can change immediately in our lives at the same time work toward ending Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
