This is the 11th “Walk To End Alzheimers” for “Helen’s Heroes” (H.H.)! “H.H.” Was established to honor my mother, Helen, who passed away from Alzheimers in 2011. I was one of her caregivers and as a retired social worker, have seen the effects personally and professionally of this horrible disease !! One’s entire family is devastated and you grieve the loss of your loved one LONG before you lose their physical presence. More and more of us know a relative, friend, neighbor, co-worker etc that has been affected by Alzheimers.

“H.H.” walks to fund research (which is making increasing progress with medication), support patients and their families/ support system, fundraise, educate, provide outreach to all affected by the disease and other dementias and most of all, END this scourge that continues to negatively impact not just the US but the entire world.
