I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
This is such a sad disease! Dick has lost his ability to walk and has lost most of his ability to speak. To journey with a spouse, neighbor, friend, relatives, and caregivers supporting their spouses & family members is mind boggling and, at times, heart wrenching.
I thank God for our family and our Gig Harbor Caregiver group, Deme Strong!
Finding a cure could help us in the future to stop this crazy Alzheimer’s disease!
