We are the Maple Leaf Caregivers support group plus their families and former support group members and, during COVID, began walks with Alzheimer's shirts and flowers to Matthews Beach in Northeast Seattle.  

This year on some members will participate at the walk at Seattle Center AND walk to Matthews Beach while others will walk from one member's home to Matthews Beach plus some will meet us there!

Our support group and the loved ones we care for has benefited from the tremendous information including telephone help 24/7 that the Alzheimers Association especially the Pacific Northwest Chapter has provided us.  

Currently about 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050.  Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
