I'm walking in honor of my mom and grandma, and to help reclaim the future for millions.
When my mom, a physician for nearly 30 years, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at the age of 57, our lives forever changed. Twelve years later, we are finally seeing progress with potential treatment and prevention as we continue to strive for a cure. This progress is directly due to our ongoing support and fight. By participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and much-needed funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support. I'm committed to ending Alzheimer's.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Millions more serve as unpaid caregivers. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into prevention, treatments, and a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already effected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts here.
