In 2002 my father, David Jacobson, lost his life to Alzheimer's Disease. In reality, however, we began losing him bit by bit for many years prior to his death. As a Podiatrist, My dad was dedicated to helping others and easing the suffering of his patients. He taught me the value of family, faith and action.
While I will be walking to honor my father's memory I will also be honoring the memory of my grandmother and my uncle, both of whom also suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. Finally, I am walking to honor the memory of friends and family who have been impacted by Alzheimer's Disease and the caregivers who make their lives easier through their love, compassion and patience.
