I lost my Mother to Alzheimer's Disease on December 10, 2017.  

    I watched for many years as this cruel disease took her away from me, her son, her sister and brother, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her entire family.   It took Mom away from me twice.....once when she no longer recognized me and then again when she left this Earth. 

   A piece of my heart went with my Mom when she passed.  She  was my best friend, my rock....she was my hero.   Mom was always, always there for me when I needed someone to cry with, laugh with or just "be" with.  She was never too busy for me.  I miss her so very much

    Alzheimer's doesn't care your gender, your race or your education level. It is a brain disease with no conscience, care or concern.  It is a disease that makes us feel powerless, helpless and we are at its' mercy.  

    We cannot afford to lose another brain to Alzheimer's. It's the only cause of death in the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured or slowed. Alzheimer's and other dementias cost the nation billions of dollars each year.  By 2050, these costs could rise as high as $1.1 TRILLION.
