"We had hoped" is the refrain between two friends as they walk together in the wake of the death of their teacher and friend, Jesus. (Luke 24:21) This story, this verse in particular resonates with so many folks who find themselves on a journey of grief.
This is a team is born out of my journey with my mom, Mandy, who is living with early-onset Alzheimer's. This is a team for folks who know and love Mandy. It's also a team for anyone who finds themselves somewhere along the road of grief, carrying the sacred stories of the ones we know, love, and perhaps have lost to Alzheimer's disease. On the Road to Emmaus, the disciples come to know each other, and the stranger with whom they're speaking, more fully as they share their grief with one another. This is a team that knows the road is long, but that it's best when walked together.
I hope you'll join me, walk with us, and feel more connected along the way.
