My name is Casey Halstead and I am leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
In 2020, my sweet grandfather had a second stroke leading to him being diagnosed with advanced Dementia. I saw first hand the effect this disease had on him, my grandmother and our family. Ultimately, the effects of this disease took my grandfather from us, way sooner than any of us were ready for. I miss him every day and wish more than anything I could have more time with him. But Dementia robbed that from us. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. I walk in memory of my grandfather.
My goals is that no one else has to go through what my grandfather did because we have found a cure to Dementia and Alzheimer's. That day will come, and with your help, we can make that day happen sooner! Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Even if it's only a dollar, every little bit counts and helps in our efforts to #EndAlz!
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's! If you are interested in joining the planning committee for walk, joining my team for walk day or just learning more information on what you can do to help, feel free to text me, message me, or call me. Just ask.
