This is my favorite photo of my Auntie Penny. It sums up what life with her was like. Laughing all the time!
My Auntie Penny is the reason I love the ocean, Cape Cod and summertime. I loved my time with her in Eastham, MA so much. All of my childhood memories are from spending time on Cape Cod. Those memories make up who I am. I can't imagine losing them. Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia need to go.
I brought my kids to Cape Cod in 2017 to meet my Auntie. It was hard for me to see that I waited a bit too long because Penny was in the early stages of dementia. It broke my heart but also filled it to see her with my kids. Making more memories.
I'm not only managing the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Park City this year, I'm fundraising and walking it too. I'm Walking the Walk, walking the talk.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
