I never thought that I would still be raising money for a cure for Alzheimer’s for eight years! And there are many of you who have supported my efforts all eight years, and I can’t thank you enough for joining me on this journey! I’m still hopeful that a cure is on the horizon!
I have met so many interesting and wonderful people since I got involved with the Alzheimer’s Association. Those with the disease or taking care of loved ones with the disease, people who work for the organization and Doctors looking for a cure!
I’d like to introduce you to a special friend, Carly!
Carly’s husband, Ken, was diagnosed with Stage 5 Alzheimer’s Disease in 2020 at the age of 68! In 2021 he was placed in a memory care unit with Stage 7, and unfortunately he passed away this past December! Ken was creative, smart, active, intelligent, healthy and a wonderful person! Why did he get Alzheimer’s at such an early age? Why did it progress so quickly? No one knows…
Which is worse, having the disease for three short years like Ken, or 12 long slow years like my Dad? It is a hideous disease no matter what… and we need to find a cure!
We hope you can join us at the Park City Alzheimer’s Walk on August 19th.. or if you so choose please donate to our page!
Be well and thanks for your support!
Debbie and Carly
