Did you know that dance strengthens your brain? It can create new pathways in your brain which then helps your cognition. And scientists say this can happen even as we get older. We have a lot of dancers on our team. We met at Basin Recreation Center—a local fitness facility in Park City, Utah. We became friends through attending dance classes. Some of us are new to dance. Some of us are returning to dance after yars—even decades! All of us love the instructors, the music, the people we dance with and learning more dance steps. Our team members joined the fight to end Alzheimer’s for various reasons—a friend has been diagnosed or a loved one has succumbed to Alzheimer’s. Some just feel compelled to eradicate this ugly disease and are helping get donations to do so. We ask that you donate to Basin Rec Dance Team. We are excited to walk again this year! Look for purple tutus, crazy wigs, maybe some purple sunglasses and people who are dancing their way on the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million family and friends provide their unpaid care. There are 33,000 Utahns with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia.
We need your help to end this devastating disease. You can make an impact with a donation or even joining our team. Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Thank you for your support!
