This year I am walking in memory of my Mama. She gained her heavenly reward in December of 2019. Thankfully her home going came before COVID-19 and pandemic became a household word. I miss her everyday but to be honest I am thankful God took her home as quickly as He did. I watched as precious memories were robbed from her and my heart broke every time I had to make a decision that, in years past, my mom would have been able to make on her own. I want this dreaded, memory robbing, disease eliminated so that children will no longer have to look their parents in the eyes and tell them "I'm sorry mom/dad but you can no longer drive or I'm sorry mom/dad but you have to leave the familiarity of the home you have lived in for over 60 years and go to a place that can take care of you and keep you safe or remind them that you are their child because they no longer remember you. I'm leading the way to helping cure Alzheimer's and be a part of celebrating the first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
