We are walking for Alzheimers, The man pictured, team named after him, Joe, was diagnosed 4 1/2 yrs prior to his death in 2020. It was not because of covid, it was due to his vascular dementia. This is my dad. The woman beside him is my mom and has been diagnosed with Alzheimers as of 2022. We knew it was a possibility that she had it due to the signs. Those that has never been through caring for someone that has this disease, may not be able to see these symptoms. We are now walking for her as once a caregiver and now a patient along for my dad. I truly hope it stops with me. We need to fight this before my children and grandkids have to go through this with another generation in this family.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
