Harold Sutter was a child of the great depression era, a combat veteran of World War II, a Lutheran minister who touched the lives of many during his career, and he was a great father to me and my seven siblings. Dad passed away in 1999, but Alzheimer's disease robbed him of his memories, physical health and relationships well before that.
Unfortunately, my father's story is not an uncommon one. More than six million Americans are afflicted with Alzheimer's, and one in three seniors ultimately dies with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia. This is why I walk, and I hope you will join us by supporting the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer's.
