Over 20 years ago, I first encountered this disease. My grandmother became Ill and after many tests, she was diagnosed with Alzheimers. I was probably in the sixth or seventh grade. I got to watch my grandmother whom I loved beyond belief suffer year after year. Fighting year after year with this disease. Slowly watching her deteriorate and all of those precious memories we made together slowly disappear from her mind, until eventually she had no recollection of who I was. That was heartbreaking to watch. It has stuck with me all these years later. All I wanted to do was help my grandmother get better and do anything I could to be there for her. What I didn’t know then, is that she wouldn’t get better. There was no cure. Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation and together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease once and for all.
