We know many people who are suffering with Alzheimer's or some other form of dementia. This year, we are walking in memory of Lisa's Mother-in-law, Mary Beach. Mary lost her battle with dementia on September 1, 2022, but we will always remember the lives that she touched as an Elementary Teacher and later as a Hospice Nurse. Mary truly embodied this quote by William Arthur Ward:
“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
It was difficult to watch Mary as she declined, particularly during her final 6 months. Her world became very small and it was often difficult for us to determine and treat her symptoms. We walk this year, striving for the day we all can peacefully leave this world REMEMBERING that we are deeply respected and loved by those we love the most.
