Unfortunately this disease affects all of us in some relationship directly or indirectly. This particular walk will touch many of us participating currently taking care of loved ones, specifically parents. The heartbreak that Alzheimers and dimentia brings makes this more important for those touched daily by this terrible disease. To watch a loved one fight for thoughts, words, and the ability to just function as they were accustomed to is a difficult cross to bear for the patient and the family. Our hope is that with these types of fundraisers that a treatment or cure will be found for this terrible disease.
We are currently walking for two women in particular and all of the other's that are living with this daily. We want to mention our dear mothers, June and Dulaine, the reason we are doing this walk today. We each have loved ones who have gone before us that suffered through this need to be remembered and honored. The grief and pain from this is never easy, but knowing that support and foundations such as this will help to ease the pain this disease brings to the patient and family.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million family and friends provide their unpaid care. We need your help to end this devastating disease. You can make an impact with a donation or even joining our team. Your kindness and generosity truly make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Thank you for your support!
