Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
We lost our mom, Patty to this horrible disease Alzheimer's. Anyone who's loved one is consumed to this disease, loses them more than once. I always say, I lost my mom twice. Once to Alzheimer's and again in March, 2021 after aspirating because Alzheimer's caused her to forget to swallow properly. Although we knew mom was in the end stages of this cruel disease, the pain of losing her suddenly, was not any less. Mom may have lost her battle, but I hope to help one day find a cure, to prevent anyone else being lost to Alzheimer's. I thought our Alzheimer’s fight was done, but continue to fundraise to find a cure. But, this wicked, cruel disease is rearing it’s ugly head for round 2. My dad, Doug began showing signs and is in the mid stages of Dementia. so here we are, Dementia, take 2. Eff this damned disease! I’m ready to fight this more than ever!
I never like asking anyone for money, but if you're able, please donate to support my walking in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's in Bluffton, SC on October 26th. If you're in the area, come join us on "Team Pattycake!"
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
I have a goal to be the first person to carry that white flower, symbolizing the first person to be saved from Alzheimer’s!
Thank you!
