Alzheimer's is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other cognitive and mental functions. After joining Sigma Kappa, I was proud to be walking and raising both funds and awareness for all my sisters with personal connections to the disease-- hearing their stories made me want to ensure that no one else would have to go through what they have.
I walk to honor all those suffering from Alzheimer's and any other form of memory loss. Watching these diseases take over the lives of so many people has impacted me and my perspective on life for good. I walk to show support and compassion for anyone by Alzheimer's. I walk to stand by all those caring for someone with Alzheimer's, it takes someone truly special to get up every day and serve victims of dementia and memory loss. I walk to find a cure to Alzheimer's, and to support everyone with their own personal connections.
Together, we can put an end to this horrible disease.
