I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I want to share a deeply personal journey that has shaped my life and my purpose. In 995, I had the honor of walking across the stage at Salve Regina University, donning my cap and gown, and receiving my BSN. This moment was not just a personal achievement; it was a testament to the unwavering support and love of my dad.
My dad stood by me through every struggle, and every challenge that came my way. His love was my anchor, guiding me through the stormy seas of life. His pride in my accomplishments was a beacon of light, especially during the darkest moments.
However, life had a different plan for us. My dad battled Lewy Body Dementia, a cruel and unforgiving disease that robbed him of his dignity, his memories, and ultimately, his life. He faced this relentless adversary with grace and courage, even in the face of immense suffering. Lewy Body Dementia took him from us not once, but twice, reminding us of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment.
As I prepare to participate in a special event to raise awareness about Lewy Body Dementia, I am filled with a mix of emotions – love, grief, and determination. I walk not only for my dad but for every person who has faced the challenges of this devastating disease. I walk to honor the memory of a man who loved unconditionally, who taught me the value of resilience, and who demonstrated the true meaning of bravery.
I invite you to join me in this cause. Your support can make a significant difference. Whether you can contribute a small donation or simply share this message to raise awareness, every action counts. Together, we can honor the memory of my dad and all those who have been affected by Lewy Body Dementia. Let's stand united against this terrible disease and spread love, compassion, and understanding.
