Support Team Peter and Sandy for the Alzheimer's Walk to End Alzheimer's, the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Our Dad, grandfather, and friend, Peter Greenman, started the Block Island Walk to End Alzheimer's, now in its 5th year, in honor of our Mom, Sandy Greenman. Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's nine years ago and is currently in memory care in Newport, Rhode Island. Last September's walk was the first year without Dad at the helm who passed away unexpectedly in October 2021. Before his death, we promised to keep the walk going and last year we hit it out of the park! It started with a generous grant from the Roosa Family Foundation of Rhode Island which ultimately helped us raise over $95,000. Team Peter and Sandy ended the year as the 21st top fundraising teams nationwide, a major accomplishment considering there are over 600 walks! Today, on behalf of our mom and the millions affected by Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, we ask you to please donate generously to Team Peter and Sandy with the hope that one day there will be a cure for this tragic disease.
