Dear Family and Friends,

It's that time of year again, and I am writing to ask for your help for our Walk to End Alzheimer's Team at Roger Williams Park, on September 29th, 2024.

Please support our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

This year we have set a goal of $3,500 as Eleanor, Christopher and I hope to surpass last year's fundraising efforts of $2,905 raised.  We know we can do it, but we need all of your love and support!

Alzheimer's is a terrible disease that slowly destroys so many families, and sadly our own is not immune.  I am devastated to say my father, Dr. Michael Stevenson, lost his 6 year battle with ALZ last November.  His entire circle of family and friends is still reeling from the hole he has left in our lives.  While we process this tragedy, my mother, Judy Bailey, continues her own battle with this incurable disease, which she has been living with for several years now.  

ALZ is devastatingly hard on not just the person living with the disease, but also the people they love, who are often their closest caregivers and suffer the most, little by little losing the people they know and love right in front of their eyes.

With very little treatment, and no known cure, 6 million Americans are today living with Alzheimer's.  Alzheimer's kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined, and 1 in three seniors will die from Alzheimer's or other form of dementia.  The time is now to work to find the first survivor.

Great strides are being made in drug therapies for mild cognitive decline, and your donations are helping greatly to further research toward slowing the progression of ALZ and hopefully someday finding a cure.

We can always feel your love and support as our family walks amongst so many other families to battle this horrible disease.  Anything you can give is greatly appreciated!
