Dear friends and family,

As many of you know, my grandmother, Suzanne LaScala, lost her battle to Alzheimer’s/dementia disease in October 2022. It was a journey marked by heartache, as we watched her vibrant and talkative spirit slowly slip away over the years consumed by the grip of this unforgiving illness. The disease robbed her of her memories and stole away pieces of her identity, leaving behind a shell of the woman we knew and loved.

That is why I have made the decision to participate in the walk to end Alzheimer's. I am walking for my grandmother and the millions of individuals and families affected by this disease. I am walking to honor her memory and to ensure that her legacy lives on through us.
