The Man with hands of Gold, the husband, the dad, the pop-pop, the friend, Plumber, Carpenter, mechanic, builder, inventor, and much more… Ed was the man that people went to for their fix-it needs. There was always someone at his door, or on the phone asking him for help. Ed gladly helped. 

A South Philly guy, A simple man met the love of his life, childhood sweetheart, Agatha down the block and have been together ever since. Agatha is now Edwards main caregiver with the help of their daughter, Karen, son-in-law, Todd and their children Bianca, Dominica and Todd JR. 

The horrible disease of Alzheimer’s has robbed Edward, along with many others, of his dignity his knowledge, love for fixing and building his creations. A man who saw a bike tire and a scrap of metal in the trash and right away thought of building a windmill, he saw copper tubing and right away, and thought of building a solar panel, which he put on his rowhome roof. Ed Suez was the first person in South Philadelphia to power his home with wind energy. Also run hot water from his solar panel before it was even heard of.

Alzheimer’s disease has robbed our loved one of being able to think on his own, it has taken  his independence, it has taken away the ability for him to use his creative hands and his ability to verbally communicate his thoughts. 

But everyday we move forward, Everyday we are blessed with a wonderful support circle. They listen, laugh and cry with us.

We walk and fund raise in Edward Suez’s honor because he has honored us and taught us and helped us to be out-of-the-box thinkers and to use our minds to be creative individuals.

We pray for all of the families that Alzheimer Disease has affected and we pray for the Caregivers!
