I want to share something deeply meaningful to me – my grandfather's battle with Alzheimer's Disease. This illness is incredibly challenging and heartbreaking to witness as it gradually transforms him away from the person he once was.

I feel truly fortunate to have experienced the passion and creativity he brought into our lives, and I am grateful to still have his love and positivity in my heart. Each day is a unique struggle, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love the small moments we have together everyday. From coloring, to listening to music, to playing with the dogs, to sitting in the sun and so much more.

My love for my family is paramount, and being the team captain for this walk in support of my Pop Pop means the world to me. I decided awhile back that I wanted to participate in this walk with my family surrounding myself and Pop Pop so that we can all gather together to support the cause and the influence he has had over the years. Just a small way we can give back after everything he has built for this family.

I want to express my immense gratitude to my family and friends who are there every day, spending time with my grandfather, sharing laughter, and offering support. I invite anyone interested to join us on this walk to support the cause, and we also welcome donations to help us reach our goal.

Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
