At Home Instead we provide help with needed day to day care in the home. Everyday we work with families who are affected by dementia and see first hand how devastating this disease can be on both, those affected and their family members, as their cherished loved ones lose their identity. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.

This disease can affect anyone and its prevalence is increasing. Research dollars can help find a cure to eventually stop brain damage from occurring. We all want to grow old celebrating special moments with our loved ones, dementia robs us of this. Our professional caregivers experience how difficult is to work with people who don't remember you day to day and who may even forget how to do normal tasks like brushing their own teeth.
