Years and years have passed since this photo was taken. Back when I still had both of these amazing people in my life. I love and miss both of them more than words could possibly say. We started to lose both of them before they left us in a physical form. We never really knew if my father had developed dementia or if it was because of the effects from the strokes on his short term memory but I think we all saw it here and there while talking with him. My mother on the other hand started to slip away from us more and more as she approached her passing. Alzheimer's and dementia affects millions directly and indirectly. It is very hard to come to grips with watching someone slowly forget things and people. That is my story and that is why I #walk2endalz. Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising awareness and funds to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising efforts. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you for your support!
