Thanks for joining my fight to end Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This cause has become extremely personal to me.
I’m walking in memory of my favorite Aunt and to celebrate my amazingly resilient mom, Gerry.
Aunt Ann was one of the most energetic and vibrant people I ever met. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s ended her life far too early. When she needed regular care, my mom drove an hour and a half many days a week to help. And when Aunt Ann needed to move into memory care, mom and dad moved her to a nearby facility and mom — then in her late 70s — walked nearly 2 miles every day to visit her.
Now, at age 96, mom is dealing with her own dementia challenges. She’s still sharp, but it’s hard on her. She’s fortunate to have good care and coordinated, local family to help her. Most people aren’t so lucky.
I’m committed to fight Alzheimer’s and other dementia by raising money to fund education, research, and public policy changes. The Alzheimer’s Association is making tremendous strides in each of these areas, and your contribution makes a difference.
For each of the first 10 people who pledge $100 (or more), I’ll match $100.
Thank you for your support!
