The Fundraisers are very important to me because my beautiful, smart daughter was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when she was 49 years old. Our church Morningside UMC started TEAM DIANE, now joined by OPEN DOOR CHURCHES OF SALEM. This will be the 12th year we participate in the WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S. With wonderful help, Diane lived independently for several years, but as daily activities and safety became an issue, she moved in with her parents, George and Brigitte Rolph. Sadly, Diane's Dad passed away a few months later. I cherished the time I had with Diane, there were many activities we enjoyed doing together. She lived with me for several years until I had to make the heartbreaking decision to find a Memory Care Community for her. She is now living in a good place and seems content. The Covid-19 Pandemic was very difficult for both of us, because I could not visit her. Now I can visit her, help feeding her and also hug her.
Participating in the WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S is my way to change the course of this disease. That one day there will be NO Alzheimer's in this world.
Together, we can End the Alzheimer's disease! Please make a donation to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE FIGHT TO END ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA.
