I support the fight against Alzheimer's because my family has experienced firsthand how Alzheimer's Disease affects loved ones, finances, healthcare communities, and the stories of a lifetime. I walk to end Alzheimer's to honor my dad, Jim who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 58. He became free from Alzheimer's at the young age of 66. My mom, Audrey and uncle, Scott served as his dedicated caregivers while holding full time jobs. Alzheimer's robbed my dad of so much for so long. Alzheimer's robbed our family and our time together.
My first Walk to End Alzheimer's in 2016 was the first time I realized my family was not alone in this devastating disease. The magnitude of Alzheimer's is overwhelming. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is not only an event to honor our loved ones, caregivers, and ourselves but also serves as a community to gather in support and unrelenting hope for a world without Alzheimer's. I walk in hopes that one day, Alzheimer's will no longer cruelly rob the lives of our loved ones. I will walk until Alzheimer's is no more.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you. Till Alz is No More.
