I am walking for my mom who passed on 10/26/22. In 2017, I had to call the police to have her taken out of her home. At that moment I knew she would never go back home. She was so independent and so proud of her home. It broke my heart but I needed to keep her safe. She was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and lived at Newton Wellesley Center for Alzheimer's Care just outside of Boston until her passing in October. This disease is so cruel to the entire family and I don't want to the next generations to have to deal with it.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
