I have been an Alzheimer's Advocate and a volunteer working in education and advocacy since my Dad's diagnosis in 2009. The fight for a cure is more than just a volunteer opportunity to me-it is my passion and my priority. You see, Alzheimer's has made this fight very personal; I lost my Daddy, his father, several of his siblings, my mother's sister in law and now my sister in law to this terrible disease. Alzheimer's is the monster under my bed. I walk to reclaim the future for millions of people I have never met, and to insure I will remember the past I have lived and loved. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R), I've made it my goal to do all within my ability to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support.
There are currently more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and that number is predicted to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
Please help me do my part by making a donation to my team, or me as an individual. We can help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's-for the millions already affected by the disease, their loved ones, and our future
Thank you for taking a look at my story and for your help in reaching a cure! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
