Nationally, it creates enormous strain on the state and federal budgets. Average annual Medicaid spending for a senior with Alzheimer’s disease is 23 times greater than the average across all other seniors.

Individually, the financial, emotional and physical impact on those living with the disease and their loved ones is immeasurable.

It does not have to be this way. Awareness, concern and supportive follow-through will change the tide.
