Last year, with the help of Bill Ritter, a friend and former neighbor, and the generous donations of many, we were able to exceed the team goal of $7,500 by over $10,000. Locally, team participants raised close to $300,000.
For 2024, the McNerney team's goal is once again $7,500.
There are over 6 million people in the U.S., living with Alzheimer's and Dementia. One (1) in five (5) women, and one (1) in ten (10) men, are affected by this disease by the age of 45.
I know firsthand from helping to take care of my father, the impact Alzheimer's has on the individuals inflicted as well as the caregivers.
Fortunately, through research, we have seen progress. In 2023, the FDA approved a drug that significantly slows the progression the disease for those diagnosed in the early stages. Another drug is expected to receive FDA approval later this year.
Please support the team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research so that future generations don't suffer the same fate as our loved ones.
Thanks for your generous donation and may God bless you!
Jim McNerney
