This year, as in years past, we are walking to honor my late mother-in-law, Betty Jo Meyer. Some of you may have been blessed to have known her from her many years as a cashier at Stump's Markets, a long gone Dayton, OH grocery chain.
If you knew Betty Jo, you knew she could light up any room with her ever present smile. Some of you may have even attended the legendary Christmas parties at the Meyer home.
Betty Jo succumbed to Alzheimer's in 2015. Left in the wake of this horrible disease were her many family members and friends, who still wonder how this could have happened to such a vibrant, caring person.
