Evan and I would love if you would take a few moments to read our stories as to why this cause is near and dear to our hearts.
My grandmother, Myrna Pastore, is not just a name that people knew, but it is a name that impacted everyone she came in touch with. She was known for having the biggest heart on the planet and giving to anyone in need. She would light up every room she walked into, which made for the most amazing role model I could have ever imagined. Unfortunately, our family lost the foundation we all relied on this past October. With much grace, Myrna had battled Alzheimer's Disease for 7 years.
Throughout his time here, you could not find a more honest, hard working man than Mike Tortola Senior. Between running a cement business, owning a farm, and several other labor intensive jobs- his true life's work was his family. Mike was the example of hard-work truly does pay off and for that I could not have asked for a better role model. This past February our family lost the hardest working person we ever knew.
Evan and I both understood that as the disease began to progress it was apparent our families would need resources to help improve our grandparents’ quality of life. This association is important to us because it gives the support many people are searching for. We would like to continue our grandparents’ legacy by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's and donating to such an amazing cause. Thank you to everyone who continues to celebrate the lives of these two amazing people.
Love,
Jessica and Evan Tortola
