My wife, Laura, started showing signs of dementia more than 21 years ago. Since then, our three kids have graduated from college and found their spouses. We now have six granddaughters ages two to ten. Laura has been in a wonderful Christian based nursing facility for more than seven years. At age 75, she has been confined to a wheel chair these past three years. Even though she understands very little now, I am thankful that she still knows me and I try to get a "yes and no" response from her. I usually visit her twice a day and help her with lunch and supper. Alzheimer's has been a very tough disease for our family to deal with but God has given us the grace, strength, and patience to do so. I am also thankful for the wonderful caregivers and the Christians who have been praying for us. God is good! Your donations to help find a cure for this terrible disease are appreciated.
This is the sixfth year of having our team "The Forgotten Notes." I am so pleased with the number of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and former students who have donated to our team in the past. I would love to have anyone join our team and/or donate to help us find a cure for this disease.
