My beautiful wife Karen was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) in 2011, robbing her of speech and executive function, such that she was not able to do anything for herself. But for eight years, I had her wonderful smile. Sadly, the disease claimed her life in March 2019. FTD is not Alzheimer's, but the Alzheimer's Association supports research and provides programs for all types of dementia.

I knew Karen wiould not be cured, as there is no current treatment for her disease. But I want to help the Alzheimer's Association fight this disease so that my children and grandchildren will not be overcome by this terrible malady.
