Well, another year has passed and Audrey and I continue the fight to END ALZEIMER'S. 

Audrey has been living at Ganzhorn Memory Suites, in Avon,  the passed year and has adjusted well. Of course we have not been without our ups and downs, with UTI's, Covid, and weight loss all playing a role in Audrey's overall health.

I tried as long as I could to keep her at home, but it just wasn't to be. Neither of us was doing very well. We talked, we cried, and we made the decision together.  Audrey really enjoys the companionship and the activities of a group, and that's what Ganzhorn provides. The facility is close to home which allows Max and I to visit her every day.  Through it all, Audrey has remained happy. She could have been depressed or even violent. Audrey has remained a happy person throughout this whole experience. For this I am grateful! My goal for Audrey is quite simple, happy and safe, and at Ganzhorn I have just that. The days and nights at home without Audrey are very lonely, but with her at Ganzhorn and me not having to worry about her day- to-day care, our relationship has only grown stronger.  Every day I have her is a blessing. 

It's hard to believe that Audrey has been fighting this terrible disease for over twelve years . With your help, we have been able to raise over $60,000 to help find a cure. But the fight is not over. Audrey and I will continue to help raise awareness and funds until someone holds a white flower at a walk representing the first cured person. 

That's why Audrey and I are joining the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's at the Lorain County Community Collage in Elyria, Ohio, on Saturday, September 9th, 2023. This year the walk may look a little different, but the goal is the same, to help bring awareness and funds to support Alzheimer's care, support and research.  Together, we can become an unstoppable force against this devastating disease.
