This is is our 4th walk since Pappy has been gone.

His life's work was his family, we were his purpose and his hobby. He loved all his family and met each one right where they needed him. First and foremost he taught us the value of family but hard work and learning were always instilled in us as well. He always took care of everyone else, until he couldn't. This disease progressed to the point he couldn't do anything for himself, he couldn't communicate and couldn't even get out of bed. At that point my parents became his full time caregivers. Although they were thankful to keep Pappy at home to live out his days, it came at a physical, emotional and financial price. The hope that someday it could be different for other families is why we participate and support this event every year.
