Employees from the Wexner Medical Center, College of Nursing and Office of Academic Affairs are spearheading an effort to represent Ohio State at the 2024 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research is held annually in more than 600communities nationwide, including on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Columbus.

“The Alzheimer’s Association providestremendous support for patients and their caregivers and critical funding forresearch into Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The Walk to End Alzheimer’sraises necessary funds to uplift this work, and I hope it is a huge successwith a broad spectrum of support from our university community.” ~ Karen Rose,PhD, Dean and Professor, The Ohio State University College of Nursing

All are invited to join by walking,volunteering and/or donating as a member of the unified team working towards afuture without Alzheimer’s.

Ohio State is home to world-classresearchers and clinicians who are dedicated treating dementia, Alzheimer’sdisease and related memory disorders while supporting patients, families andcaregivers.

The College of Nursing’s Golden BuckeyeCenter for Dementia Caregiving serves as a vital resource for caregivers ofindividuals with dementia. Through education, support and outreach programs,the Golden Buckeye Center aims to improve the quality of life for bothcaregivers and those living with dementia.

Located within the Wexner Medical Center,the Center for Cognitive and Memory Disorders is at the forefront of diagnosingand treating cognitive disorders, including Alzheimer’s. The center’s team ofexperts utilizing cutting-edge research and innovative therapies to providecomprehensive care to patients and their families.
