I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease, and progress is being made thanks to generous donations.
My dear Aunt Beverly lived with Alzheimer's for years and didn't know anyone around her. Luckily her personality was alive and well but it was hard to see her disappear. My father has been living with Dementia for about six years and we've watched his mental decline over time. We are lucky that he still loves to laugh and has maintained his friendly nature. Almost everyone I talk to has a relative who has some level of Dementia. We all need to make it stop.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Past donations have supported the advances that have been made just in this last year: treatment that can stall the progression of Dementia and progress toward earlier detection.
If you've already donated to my campaign, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you haven't, please consider making a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Do you have $5 to spare? No amount is too small.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
