I walk and advocate because of my mother, Hazel G. Gibbs. She was diagnosed at the age of 80 and lived another 9 years with the progression of Alz. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, had an amazing smile and an infectious laugh.
I know many who are struggling with some form of dementia, some I attend church with, some of my friends are taking of parents or spouses. It is such a heartbreaking task, but one that is a true labor of love!
I am walking again, in 2024 in her honor and will continue to fight for those who cannot.
