Another year has gone by and we miss you Vonnie -so much! We are grateful for the memories of this wonderful woman. Know you live on in so many ways with us. On our first walk, my Mother chose a blue flower signifying herself as someone living with Alzheimer's disease. I was so very proud of her. On her flower she wrote, I have hope. A simply put message that drives us every year. My family walks in honor of our Mother, Grandmother, and friend Yvonne- Vonnie- Jerman.
Please be aware of people in the community who may need assistance to remain in their homes and stay connected. Contact your local area agency on aging and be an advocate for those in need. Area agencies on aging can assist you in finding services and support in your area. The annual Chautauqua Walk to End Alzheimer's is an important part of honoring those we loved and lost and also encouraging and advocating for those who live every day with the challenges of memory loss.
Please join me and others around the globe in leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® campaign. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Please donate to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
