Hi Friends,
I am once again participating in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's. Dementia has personally affected my family on too many occasions, so finding treatments and ultimately a cure for this terrible disease is a cause that is close to my heart!
Dementia & Alzheimer's has affected my family and close friends on numerous occasions. Both my paternal and maternal grandfathers suffered from dementia, my father was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2021, my stepmother with Stage 5 Alzheimer's in December 2021, several aunts and uncles battled the disease, and we also lost a very close family friend from Alzheimer's a decade ago. Watching a loved one deteriorate mentally and physically is gut wrenching to watch them suffer through, not to mention caring for someone with any form of dementia is a difficult and extremely overwhelming task! The Association has been an amazing resource for my family, and I cannot speak highly enough about everyone I have encountered with our local Chapter. The Alzheimer's Association is a truly wonderful organization, with compassionate, caring people who have access to tools and resources that many of us don't even know exist!
If you have loved someone with dementia, you can relate to how trying it can be to care for them, to watch them fade, to keep them safe and to navigate their day-to-day needs. We need a cure, and great strides and promising advancements have been made recently, but it cannot stop there! By donating any amount to myself or my fellow Hodgson Russ colleagues, we can help aid the Association to continue their mission to find a cure for Alzheimer's once and for all!
Thank you for reading, and especially for your love and support, especially in the most trying of circumstances, I appreciate it beyond words!
With gratitude and love, Danielle
